THE BASIC ATTRIBUTES OF FOOD SECURITY

The article deals with the process of the food security concept formation and development of food security definitions. The next section shows the four basic dimensions of food security, and briefly discusses the food security levels. Paper informs about selected food security indicators and the required criteria, that are relevant to these indicators. The last part of the article is focused on the major institutional players in the field of food security in the world and the European Union.
