The industrial processes risk assessment is based on use of diverse qualitative and quantitative methods. Within the quantitative methods especially statistical methods are able to be used for classification of statistical data, relative counts, probability, correlation and contingency so much important for investigation of mutual relations of the risk and consequences of industrial accidents. In application with other mathematic methods they allow to assess the risk based on the risks estimations and their impacts. The paper presents starting points for the above mentioned investigation.

The paper deals with the classification of radioactive sources taking into account their impact on persons who may be exposed in case of radiological incidents, accidents or other emergency situations including the use of a radiological dispersive device. The quantification of the sources, which, in general, belong to one of the category of dangerous substances, is based on relevant international recommendations with special emphasis on the documents of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

This paper brings new information on pollutants produced by combustion of building materials based on PUR. The subject of evaluation was the emission of hydrogen cyanide, a important PUR combustion product from toxicology point of view. Sample collection, laboratory sample analysis and comparison of results with the legislation limits were performed.Sampling was conducted by standard sampling equipment supplied by co. EMIMAT. This paper is focused on the risk of poverty issue in the Slovak republic. At the beginning, there are outlined the main tendencies of seizing the poverty. Then the article shows the basis for the seizing the poverty as an important social risk. Further there is a quantitative analysis of rate of risk of poverty and its state in the Slovak republic. At the and there can be found a construction and analysis of effectiveness of social transfers in decreasing of risk of poverty in Slovak republic. At the very end the paper contains the reflections about the impact of the poverty to the social and economic security of Slovak republic.

The paper deals with properties of new airport roentgen (RTG) security scanners which have been developed in order to achieve more effective detection of dangerous articles or substances which passengers may attempt to transport illegally. The discussion is especially aimed at issues related to possible health impacts of the use of these scanners on monitored persons who during such checkups are subjected to a certain although very low X-ray exposure.
