INTEGRATED RESCUE SYSTEM EXERCISES - ARE THE SAME MISTAKES REPEATED?

Tactical and sift exercises of the Integrated Rescue System are a part of the preparedness of their employees and members to deal with emergency situations. Eventually, it is needed for Emergency Medical Service providers to prepare for emergencies with mass disabilities. This article aims to map the shortcomings identified in the exercises of the Integrated Rescue System in the Pilsen Region in the years 2015 - 2019, which were pointed out in the evaluation reports, in particular, to the activities of the Emergency Medical Service. This article analysed the exercises of the Integrated Rescue System, in which the Emergency Medical Service of the Pilsen Region participated from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019. The article presents selected exercises, where more than 10 persons were injured and Emergency Medical Service took care of them. The other aim of the article is also to compare our results with published articles from abroad. Recurring mistakes of Integrated Rescue System exercises were analysed and clearly stated in the chosen time horizon. Among the identified recurrent deficiencies, we can point out the problematic grasp of the leadership roles (managerly insignificant), insufficient communication (within and also on the outside, with other components, facilities, etc.), problematic completion of triage documentation, insufficient sector marking, unsystematic parking and others. Our results are presented in tables for better clarity. The lessons learned from the exercises in the Pilsen Region have already served and will continue to serve to steer staff training and improve cooperation with other interested stakeholders and subjects.
