- Fakulta bezpečnostného inžinierstva, Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, Univerzitná 8215/1, 010 26 Žilina
Security is increasingly becoming an instrument of organizations guaranteeing strength, stability and constant development. The security of the organization is affected by several internal and external factors. One of the internal security factors of the organization is the safety culture. The aim of this article is to extend the theoretical basis for a safety culture that can be used for further research of this concept. Examining the safety culture is conditioned by the knowledge of its determinants as identified and described in the presented article. The article further focuses on the models, pillars of the safety culture and its possible development stages. All this information enables us to design a rational model aimed at assessing the safety culture of the organizations.
